The Triumphs of Faith- God is Doing a New Thing
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it, Pastor Heyward finally accepted his call for the ministry on May 09, 2017, while in Houston, TX. He sat with Pastor John Murray, shared his shortcomings, fears, and doubts for being able to carry out the task that was laid upon his heart. Overwhelmed with emotion, Pastor Nick was comforted and assured that God would not bring him to a place that He would not equip him for success. Pastor Nick began to study with the Minister’s Team to promote his growth and learning.
By faith, Pastor Heyward gave his heart, service and obedience to God and through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as his savior found avenues to share his testimony, encourage others, and serve his church at that time as an Associate Minister and Director of Membership.
By faith, during the pandemic Pastor Heyward began to write “The Push Project” which was published in April of 2020 in the midst of the Pandemic. Through this literary work, Pastor Heyward birthed Prophesied Legacy Ministries. PLM was birthed in turmoil, tried in tragedies, and fulfilled for generations to come! This was only the beginning!
By faith, Prophesied Legacy Ministries took off quickly and became the umbrella organization for all of Pastor Heyward’s ministerial endeavors. #PushTalk, a podcast, took off quickly and allowed for deeper discussions about “The Push Project.” The Push Partners anxiously awaited new installments and received breakthroughs and loads of encouragement from the words of wisdom shared by Pastor Heyward and featured guests.
By faith, in December of 2020 Pastor Heyward felt pressure to make some decisions concerning his future. After his car being broke into Pastor Heyward and Brother Timothy James went on a 10 day fast and waited to hear from God. During the fast Pastor Heyward had a dream where he saw a church service in the Charleston, SC area, but he brushed it off because his plan was for Houston to be home. Prophetess Kimberly Gordon also prophesied to Pastor Heyward that he would soon have numerous job offers and he would be able to “choose and refuse.” In February he accepted a position at The Medical University of South Carolina and relocated to Summerville, SC.
By faith, Pastor Heyward left his church home, spiritual family, and the place he had made home to move back to South Carolina. This was a faith move and filled with questions he moved. God was at work and plans quickly fell into place which reassured him that the decision was God’s plan. Pastor Heyward began to receive invites for guest appearances on podcasts, and multiple panels.
By faith, Pastor Heyward and Prophesied Legacy Ministries launched #Raceforthegoal, PLM’s Christmas Campaign to sponsor Christmas dinner and gifts for families in need. They ran for a month and collected pledges and donations to help reach their goal by Thanksgiving 2021. They set out to sponsor two families in need, but through the generous donations given four families in the Low Country were sponsored and over $2,000.00 was raised.
By faith, while out running one Sunday morning in his neighborhood, God gave Pastor Heyward the scripture Ephesians 2:19-20 and told him this was the foundation scripture for the church, and it will be called Cornerstone Fellowship. Thankful, excited, and a bit overwhelmed, Pastor Heyward embraced the idea and began laying groundwork with Brother Timothy James and others.
By faith, in January of 2022, #PLMPRAYERTIME was launched. Every Monday night they had prayer on the conference line. There were usually about 15 participants, but they received great responses about the effectiveness and anticipation for the weekly call.
By faith, in February of 2022, Cornerstone Fellowship found a home! Pastor Heyward signed the first lease for Cornerstone, and they had a church home while it was only a few of them with God!
By faith, in March of 2022, #TalkThroughTheText, was launched. This is the virtual bible study. #OrdinaryPeople was the first series that Pastor Heyward taught which focused on the 12 Disciples and showed how ordinary men had an encounter with an extraordinary man and did great things.
By faith Cornerstone Fellowship came into fellowship with Pastor Victor Barnwell and New Covenant Christian Fellowship and United Christian Fellowship was formed. The two ministries united to continue to advance God’s kingdom through unconventional ideas that attract individuals that never felt they had a place in the traditional church setting.
Prophesied Legacy Ministries is the community minded ministry and Cornerstone Fellowship is the hospital for those that hurt and not a museum for the saints. Their future looks very promising! As of today, we can proudly say Pastor Heyward and, and the Cornerstone Fellowship family are all about kingdom business. Being specifically selected by God, equipped for this task, and empowered by the Holy Spirit for a season such as this they move forward together seeking to share a message of redemption, win souls for the kingdom and make disciples for the church. They do not despise the small beginnings and are anxiously awaiting opportunities to share the love of Christ with all.
